Mayuresh is a visual artist/photographer currently based in Pune, India. He obtained his MFA from University of Kentucky, USA in 2014. His art practice constitutes a cross disciplinary approach, which results in blending of photography with other art forms like painting, installation, sculpture and sound. His photographic practice ranges from the historical alternative processes like cyanotype, gum bichromate etc. to digital photography and digital imaging through ‘scanographs’ (images made by scanning objects directly). His work continually challenges the boundaries of photography through various experiments maintaining his interest in the relationship between the current advances in digital image making and the historic photographic processes in the contemporary context. He has exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions in India as well as in USA. He has also been in the field of education in photography and visual arts since the past sixteen years in different capacities.
